PROFILES FOR CAHED AUTUMN SEMINAR AND TRADE SHOW
DAN CHISHOLM:
Dan is a technical expert in the field of emergency electrical distribution systems, specializing in
health care facilities. As Principal of Motor and Generator Institute in Winter Park he has provided
educational seminars to health care facilities engineers throughout the country. He serves as a
member of National Fire Protection Association’s Technical Committee responsible for NFPA 110,
Emergency and Standby Power Systems and the Electrical Section of NFPA 99, Health Care Facilities.
Dan’s numerous speaking engagements include addressing many State Health Care Engineering
Association meetings, as well as several ASHE Annual Conferences.
His credits include authoring many publications as well as contributing to Environment of
Care; Powerline, NEC Digest and others. .He provides consulting services to over 700
hospitals nationwide and serves as an emergency power consultant to the U.S. Army
Medical Department, and the Department of Defense.
GARY D.SLACK:
Gary is the President of Healthcare Engineering Consultants and has nearly 30 years of experience in
the health care field in the areas of teaching, research, clinical engineering and technology and regulatory management.
He has worked in the regulatory compliance area with hundreds of healthcare institutions throughout
the United States in both public and private sectors. Gary has also developed educational programs for
ASHE and other regional, state and national hospital organizations. Active on national technical committees,
including the National Fire Protection Association, he also has served on the editorial boards for Opus
Communications and Health Care Safety Institute. Gary has published many articles and has written or
contributed to six books that focus on “Environment of Care” related topics.
